WIP - Crushing His Walls - New

Joel Beckham hates his sexuality…it lost him his home, his family, his job and his best friend. There was nothing about being gay that was positive for him. He tried the “pretend to be straight” route, which was probably the worst and most disastrous mistake he ever made. His guilt in deceiving the few women he dated ate at him.
Now, two years after his heterosexual debacle, he’s withdrawn and quiet, never letting anyone get close who might stumble across what he so desperately hides. He’s determined to keep to himself and never open up to another person, especially a man. But he didn’t count on Timothy Miller. Didn’t anticipate his reaction to the gorgeous man, a reaction he was unable to control. And it pissed him off!
To make matters worse, there was no way to avoid Timothy no matter how hard Joel tried. They worked together and Joel needed his job. It was the only thing between him and complete despair. Timothy was sweet, stunningly beautiful, funny, bright—and gay. And much to Joel’s irritation, attracted to Joel. He didn’t need this, didn’t want the baggage, and was very tempted just to tell Timothy he wasn’t gay, that he had a girlfriend. But the guilt from his horrendous experiment into hetero land wouldn’t let him lie.

Joel had never been pursued by a man and slowly Timothy was melting the cold, hard ice that was Joel’s heart, cracking the walls that surrounded Joel’s soul. It terrified him. Gay meant pain in Joel’s world. But Timothy just might be able to bring a little light to Joel’s dark life, if he can allow himself to feel again.

WIP - Clouds of Discovery - New

Rao Firestine never really thought of his job as dangerous. Who ever heard of crime in the 23rd Century? But the attempt on his life was real, and Rao was encouraged to take it seriously by ESF. But as the Weather Master for the northern American continent, he couldn’t abandon his post. No one else was capable of handling the complex ecosystem that sustained the Americas. EFS, Earth Security Forces, was just going to have to understand that.
Much to Rao’s annoyance, EFS decided he needed a round the clock surveillance and protection team—well, a team made up of one person. It didn’t help that, physically, they were quite compatible. Rao’s bio-alert had gone off twice since meeting the agent and he’d been humiliated as the FR’s arrived to check him. Nothing like being sexually aroused and having First Responders questioning you, in front of the object of your desire.
It also irked Rao that the agent’s bio-alert remained irritatingly silent. But, he was an EFS agent. Rumors would have you believe they were almost…inhuman. Elite forces that were the reason crime had been wiped out decades ago. Rao knew he was in very good hands, professionally speaking. He just wondered if he’d be in good hands, personally.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Earth Security Forces Special Agent Havan Kastine didn’t feel an ounce of guilt for manipulating his bio-alert when it started vibrating as Weather Master Rao entered the room. He couldn’t have the man distracted even if they were both aware they were compatible. Did Havan want to pursue the flawless man? Yes, but he would wait until the danger to the Master was eliminated. Havan was as shocked as the rest of EFS to learn there had been a murder attempt, much less on a Weather Master.
Like his superiors, he wondered what someone thought they would gain by killing Rao and throwing the entire northern Americas into chaos. Chaos that would destroy crops, causing the starvation of the food animals, which in turn would wipe out mankind in that region. It was forbidden for regions to move product between each territory,

WIP - Clearwater Bayou - New

Sawyer runs a Paddlewheeler tour on the great Mississippi. His father ran it, and his grandfather, and every male back through five generations. But Sawyer has something his ancestors didn’t—loneliness. All the Paddleboat runners in his family fell in love with a fanciful woman who loved the bayou as much as they did. But could Sawyer find the same thing in a man?
Mid-spring and Sawyer is getting the Clearwater Bayou ready for her first run for the summer season. The bookings are full, as they always are because Sawyer has a rare talent in showing his passengers places most cannot go, sights most have never seen along the muddy waters. He’s also the only Captain of a Paddlewheeler that goes from New Orleans up to St. Louis and back in one run, a two week adventure. For the first time in twelve years, Sawyer isn’t looking forward to it. Until he sees a stunning man who is part of the first group to board his boat.

Tucker Hunt and his five year old son have a piece of their hearts missing. Two years ago, Tucker lost his partner and Finn’s Papa to death after a long agonizing illness. At the suggestion of a family friend, Tucker takes Finn and pays for a river run, something his late partner always wanted to do, but never got the chance. He’s looking forward to spending some quality time with their son, doing an activity that Mark would have loved.
He isn’t prepared for the gorgeous older man that captures his attention. He didn’t think he was ready to be attracted to another man, his grief over Mark’s death still fresh. But Sawyer is beautiful, kind, sexy and attentive—and persistent. What really impresses Tucker though is Sawyer’s way with Finn. His son hasn’t let anyone close to him since Mark’s death, not even Tucker’s sister and her husband.
But when he finds out that Sawyer is, in fact, the Captain of the Paddlewheeler, he has misgivings on whether they can pursue a relationship. After all, Tucker is from northern Missouri and Sawyer makes his home in New Orleans when he’s not running the boat. Tucker isn’t sure he wants to upend Finn’s fragile routine for his own selfish

WIP - Blood, Tears and Landry - New

Landry McGovern wasn’t sure what to think of his boss’s insistence that there was some satanic compound out in the middle of nowhere. His captain was the only one who’d spoken to the mysterious witness. A witness the captain didn’t want anyone talking to, who disappeared shortly after his statement.
There was no evidence other than what the witness claimed to have seen. A statement that made absolutely no sense. Sacrifices? Cult rituals? Furred monsters with razor sharp teeth and long lethal claws? Landry was so skeptical, he almost wished his captain had headed this mission and left him to have a beer at his local club.
Instead, he and his team were out tromping the woods, Landry’s mind wandering to his breakup with Allen and trying not to be angry at his lover’s betrayal. It was the sudden silence that had Landry looking harder for something he was sure didn’t exist.
He was wrong….

Ketch trudged along with the rest of his pack. He couldn’t believe what was happening. Their home infiltrated by a human, and then exposed to the authorities? His alpha killed by a human sharpshooter? And, now? The whole pack moving to a new territory, and that was if they could find one not already occupied by another pack.
And why were they hauling along the one human they’d captured? What was the point? He was half dead as it was. Best to just leave him behind. Ketch’s anger at the human world was overwhelming. They’d destroyed his life, the lives of his pack, killed their alpha, who was his beloved Uncle.
But, his cousin, now the new Alpha wanted to keep the human. Ketch suspected Estefan wanted to make an example of the man…if he lived.

It wasn’t until Estefan got annoyed at Ketch and ordered him to care for the human, that Ketch’s opinion started to change. Not that it made a difference with Estefan determined to destroy the human, plus the dangers and hardships they were suffering in finding a new home.

WIP - Beauty's Beast - New

Kincaid Lazenby thought it ironic that someone who looked like him would work for a modeling company. But then, all he did was haul the photographer’s props and the model’s clothing from venue to venue. He kept his head down, using his long hair to cover the scars to his face and neck, wore long sleeves even in the summer and hadn’t worn a pair of shorts since he was..well, he wouldn’t go there.
The most frustrating part of the job was the models themselves. Most of them ignored him, as if he were nothing more than a prop himself, but there were a couple that like to torment him, calling him names like monster and beast. It wasn’t Kincaid’s fault he looked the way he did, but it still hurt to be taunted over his scars.
There was only one model that seemed nice enough, but Kincaid was always tongue-tied and surly around the beautiful man. He was more stunning than any of the others, and he made Kincaid wish he didn’t look the way he did. Not that Abel Prince would ever be interested in Kincaid, even if he wasn’t hideous. Abel deserved a man that was as beautiful and stunning as he was, and that would never be Kincaid.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Abel watched Kincaid day after day, hoping to get past the walls the man had secured around himself. That Abel felt a kinship to Kincaid was not something anyone would have thought. It was just that Kincaid wore his scars on the outside, where Abel’s were on the inside. He knew he was nothing more than a pretty package to be used and when his looks were gone, to be discarded. He had no illusions that day would come. And when it did, he wanted a man there that loved him, no matter what he looked like, and that he could love back.
Abel could bet Kincaid never thought he could be loved, but despite the scars that marked Kincaid’s body, Abel was falling for him. He was so gentle, so kind and quiet, when he wasn’t being sullen and testy anyway. Abel could relate. He wasn’t accused of being a diva for nothing. He could be just as churlish as any of the other models. But he never turned his frustrations on Kincaid. Ever.

The catalyst that finally gave Abel a chance to get close to Kincaid was a tragic accident, killing their photographer and landing Kincaid in ICU. Abel never left his side, his feelings for Kincaid growing with each day Kincaid continued to breathe. He only hoped that when Kincaid was well enough to care for himself, he wouldn’t turn Abel away.

WIP - Untitled sci-fi m/m - New

Sorban was pleased that he lived in a world scored of strife and violence. As a teacher of galactic history, he knew intimately what earth used to be like. Led by the omnipotent AIL, it was paradise realized for the men that inhabited the planet. He was also happy that the Artificial Intelligence Leader had paired him with Linder.
Linder was such a strong, masculine man, a wondrous lover and a solid provider. Now it was time for them to add to their family. They had been approved for the breeder program, WBP having identified them as excellent fathers. He just wasn’t sure what to make of Linder’s reluctance.
*********************************
Linder certainly loved his bonded mate Sorban, but had found himself unsatisfied with their sexual life. His job with WBP exposed him to the female breeders and he found himself attracted to B131, a breeder with dark hair and bright green eyes. Not the breeder picked for his and Sorban’s offspring, but that hardly mattered when his feelings were forbidden. It was death to care for a breeder.
Like all men of the 23rd century, Linder was well aware of the success, yet bloody violence of the Homobellion in 2083. But, deep within himself, he didn’t believe the uprising was successful….or right, feelings that would mark him as a heretic and traitor. He watched and medically cared for the females owned by WBP, wishing more each day that they could be free. He just didn’t know what he was going to do about it…or B131, who was growing on him more and more.
Neither knew of the danger from the rogue females hidden away….

WIP - The King's Desire - New

Blood was Laise de MacGregor’s legacy to the throne of Scotland. Battles he had won and lost. But the battle within himself was the hardest of all.
Killing was nothing. Raiding an afterthought. Plundering a habit. But the emotions that threatened to spill from him were the fear he could not shake. The sin that draped his very soul.
He was king, the highest of all, yet he craved one of the lowest. Finnean, one of his guardsmen, had a brother. A beautiful man, with stunning sapphire eyes under thick midnight black hair. Diarmad was everything Laise wanted in a lover. Beautiful, strong, courageous, even if he was just a courtier, and not within the ranks of Laise’s military, nor one of the noblemen that were nettles in Laise’s side.
The desires that coursed through him were a risk. To allow his dark propensities to be revealed…to the queen, to the queen mother…to the noblemen that claimed alliance, but would stab him in the back on the first provocation, was not something he was willing to do. His liaisons had to be discrete; his loins curtailed until behind closed doors.
But what he felt for Diarmad was so much more than the release his body craved. Diarmad engaged his heart. And the King of the land, sovereign of the people could not take a man with righteousness in front of church and God, the sin too great. But Laise could nor more stop his heart from longing for Diarmad, than he could still his breath.
